Spotlight on... Kerry
As Manager of Impact’s Northampton branch, what does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical work day for me involves me being a jack of all trades! I support my team to the full and always strive to get the best out of them and support them whole-heartedly!
What did you do before coming to Impact and what attracted you to make the move to us?
I come from a Recruitment background having started as a Temp Administrator back in 2013 and working my way up. Before Impact I took 6 months out to travel the world. What attracted me to Impact was, from the moment I stepped foot in the building, Paul was wearing sliders and talking about his time travelling! I loved the family feel of the business and just knew that you were more than just a number working at Impact – you would be valued.
What are the most rewarding aspects of your job?
Results and a happy work environment motivate me. Seeing my team happy and getting results makes me feel like I am doing something right! The most rewarding part of my job is seeing my team thrive and grow into amazing Account Managers, Resourcers and Consultants.
Does anyone or anything particularly inspire you outside of work?
Lately I have to say Recycling has started to inspire me. I have started doing clothing swap shops with friends and am planning to start doing a Recycled Fashion event when Covid19 allows. I think we throw too much away and I love a bargain!
What new challenges are you/our clients and candidates facing?
Recruitment has certainly been through some ups and down’s this year, and thankfully through hard work we are on the up. A new challenge is how we have adapted to Health and Safety procedures to protect against Covid19 and do our bit for the world.
What has been the highlight of working at Impact for you?
My highlight was winning Employee of the Year 2020 – it was an honour to be voted for by my team.
What qualities are needed to succeed in the recruitment industry?
You need to be honest, driven, confident and a real fire-cracker of a person! We are all a little bit wacky in the Northampton office and I think that works well in Recruitment. -It can be a really tough job and ability to look on the positive side of things and have some fun is vital!
*there is certainly always a lot of laughter around Kerry and she has The most infectious laugh!
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to cook & drink wine! I also love spending time with friends and my cats, that are my babies!
How do you take your tea or coffee?
Just milk – and only a splash!!
