What do you do at Impact?

I am an industrial recruitment consultant who sources for new businesses across Northamptonshire,  supplying temporary and permanent staff.

What did you do before you came to Impact?

Before Impact I worked at Allen Ford Motor Company as a sales consultant selling used cars

What do you like most about working at Impact?

The thing I like most about Impact is the team, everyone is treated equally and like family. If you have a question or problem, you can talk to anyone and they are all willing to give a helping hand. Also, the professionalism and attention to detail from all the team is next to none and the way all of Impact live by their core values.  I found the training extremely helpful and I’ve never experienced anything similar before its usually all learn as you go along, but there was time and effort spent in preparing me for the recruitment world.  I like how much recruitment experience is within the team as there is so much you can learn from people who have been doing this for quite some time!

What are the biggest challenges companies in your area are facing at the moment?

Getting their inflow of work back up to where it was pre lockdown, either by bringing back existing business or even making new business. On top of that, having enough work to bring people back off furlough.

What are the biggest challenge candidates face at the moment?

Getting responses- there is such a large scale of applicants for each job advert, candidates that I have been speaking to are applying for an abundance of jobs but found they are not getting any feedback at all. Also, that because the advertisement is minimal in many industries, compared to how it was previously, they feel there are fewer opportunities out there for them.

What has been the highlight of your time at Impact so far?

My highlight would most certainly be placing my first 2 people in permanent jobs. After working towards it for what felt like ages, to get two within a week or two was amazing for me, pre Covid19 I felt everything that I was working for was falling into place! The work Christmas party was good for me to get to know everyone in the business on a personal level which helped me gain more confidence in approaching more of the team when I need help.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to go for long walks and enjoy different types of scenery. Also, boxing is something I love to do in my spare time, including the occasional fight night.

Tea or coffee?

If you asked me this before I got into sales it would have been tea but 2 weeks into my first sales job coffee was LIFE!!
