What do you do at Impact?
I work as an Industrial Account Manager based in our Wellingborough branch. I manage our clientele based in Wellingborough, specifically Park Farm industrial area and Dennington road.
What did you do before you came to Impact?
Before I started at Impact I worked in Student Recruitment for The Open University in Milton Keynes. There I would recruit students onto specific honorary degrees, as well as help with course choice and module fees.
What do you like most about working at Impact?
I can honestly say the best thing about working at Impact is the people you work with. The team are all friendly and welcoming! Although I have only been at Impact for 7 months it feels like I have been here for years.
What are the biggest challenges companies in your area are facing at the moment?
I believe the biggest challenge companies are currently facing is actually the process of returning back to work. Understandably, many companies closed during the lockdown, resulting in a downturn in work orders. Therefore, this has added extreme pressure for these companies as they begin to swiftly implement an effective return to work structure for their staff, while considering how to maintain and achieve a safe working environment.
What are the biggest challenges candidates face at the moment?
The biggest challenge candidates are currently facing is that there is an increased number of people looking for work due to redundancies. Therefore, the volume of applications on job adverts has increased. My advice would be to show as much interest as possible and be consistent in your approach. Good communication and enthusiasm will help you stand out from other applicants.
What has been the highlight of your time at Impact so far?
My highlight since working at Impact is building relationships with my clients. I feel that I have built a really good relationship with most of my clients since I started here. I also feel that the relationship I have built with my peers has been great and look forward to the many beers we will have together.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also love football and support the greatest football team in the world- Manchester United! (Now might be good time to put in a disclaimer that views expressed here are solely those of the interviewee and not necessary the author or organisation.... other teams are available. Not sure how this slipped through the rigorous recruitment process!)
Tea or coffee?
Tea, 1 sugar and a bit of milk, not too much!
