What do you do at Impact

I am a commercial recruitment consultant who sources for new businesses across Northamptonshire, supplying temporary and permanent staff.

What did you do before you came to Impact?

Before joining the Impact family, I worked with real estate selling houses in Northamptonshire.

What do you like most about working at Impact?

I know everybody at Impact would agree with me when I say, the team! We all help each other and no task is too big! I also love the freedom to take ownership over what I do and given the tools to create fantastic relationships with clients and candidates.

What are the biggest challenges companies in your area are facing at the moment?

After speaking with companies this week, it’s become apparent that a lot of companies are still furloughed or running on skeleton staff and they’re currently using their time to create a safe working environment for their employees and getting back to some normality

What are the biggest challenge candidates face at the moment?

Responses/ volume of applications- I’ve spent my time this week speaking with companies and it’s been shared that some have received up to 500 applications on a single job role. My advice would be to update your CV... make it wow!! Emphasise results rather than responsibilities and make sure to customise your CV to the job you’re applying for! This will help you stand out.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I love to write and play music. Through YouTube I’ve taught myself to play 6 instruments which on occasion I will show case at an open mic night (after a beer of course) and when I’m not creating music I like to find and prepare good food for myself and my friends.

Tea or coffee?

White coffee... the best way to start the day!

Angela has been part of the Impact family, supporting the team behind the scenes, since day one. As a primary school educator and recruiter, Angela has built up brilliant skills in conflict management, strategic thinking and diplomacy – though we’re not sure if that’s because of the recruitment or primary school environments! In between jobs and studying, Angela enjoys being active, travelling and spending time with her family.
