What do you do at Impact?

I am a commercial resourcing consultant, sourcing both temporary and permanent staff for local businesses in the Northamptonshire area.

What did you do before you came to Impact?

Before joining Impact I was a sales executive selling brewery dispense equipment into national and regional breweries in the UK.

What do you like most about working at Impact?

There are so many positives about working for Impact, they provide all the tools and training I need for me to succeed in my role and I am currently studying my Level 2 in Recruitment Resourcing. But what I like most about working here is the team, we are like one big family who support one another – it’s true what they say teamwork really does makes the dreamwork!

What are the biggest challenges companies in your area are facing now?

It is apparent that many companies have a strong focus on their staff to ensure they are able to work from home efficiently, whilst they are making their office a safe environment for their staff to return to.

What are the biggest challenges candidates face currently?

After speaking to many candidates over the last few weeks it appears that many are concerned about their job security and if they will have a job to return to after furlough. Candidates might have to compromise on their expectations for their next role and spend more time strengthening their CV to highlight their skills and achievements to ensure their CV will stand out.

What has been the highlight of your time at Impact so far?

My highlights of working at Impact for the past 18 months have been helping candidates to secure their perfect new role and supporting clients to enhance their existing team by finding quality candidates who will add benefit to their business.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am part of a local running club, so I am out running in my evenings/weekends and I completed my first 10k earlier this year with other members of the Impact team, whilst raising money for a great local charity. I also like to spend time with my family and friends enjoying meals out with a few G&Ts – but lately this has been replaced with facetime and quizzes!

Tea or coffee?

Tea- all the way!

Angela Hooper

Angela has been part of the Impact family, supporting the team behind the scenes, since day one. As a primary school educator and recruiter, Angela has built up brilliant skills in conflict management, strategic thinking and diplomacy – though we’re not sure if that’s because of the recruitment or primary school environments! In between jobs and studying, Angela enjoys being active, travelling and spending time with her family.
