What do you do at Impact?

I am an Industrial Account Manager in our Northampton Branch

What did you do before you came to Impact?

Prior to joining Impact, I worked as a Complaints and Credit Co-Ordinator at Igus

What do you like most about working at Impact?

The thing I like the most about Impact is the team I work in, we are all very different characters, but we all balance each other out so well and always get the results we want. Also, you cant beat how much we are spoilt by Mr and Mrs Hooper with surprise treats now and again, it’s such a lovely touch and never fails to put a smile on your face.

What are the biggest challenges companies in your area are facing now?

The biggest challenge my clients have been facing is the uncertainty (created by the fluctuations in business levels) of knowing if their stock is going to be on time and whether they have enough days to turn the orders around. This has made it very difficult for them to plan ahead as much as they would like too. We’ve been working hard to supply flexible staffing to respond to those changing needs quickly.

What are the biggest challenge candidates face at the moment?

'Redundancy' seems to be the main challenge I have heard a lot of recently, which is never nice for anyone, to have that uncertainty. I have tried to reassure anyone who is worried to contact Impact; we are working with clients who are recruiting, we can support and advise you and will do all we can to find suitable work for available candidates

What has been the highlight of your time at Impact so far?

I haven’t got one single particular highlight, but it is certainly the best work decision ever joining Impact, I have found my career and the opportunities Impact have given me in a year is incredible. I’m thankful for everything Impact have done, and look forward to many many more years here!

What do you like to do outside of work?

Shopping, dog walks, events and spending time with my family and friends. *Those of you who know Sophie will be amazed that this is the first time she has mentioned dogs!!

Tea or coffee?

Coffee. (Enough said!)

About the author

Angela Hooper

Angela has been part of the Impact family, supporting the team behind the scenes, since day one. As a primary school educator and recruiter, Angela has built up brilliant skills in conflict management, strategic thinking and diplomacy – though we’re not sure if that’s because of the recruitment or primary school environments! In between jobs and studying, Angela enjoys being active, travelling and spending time with her family.
